Hello Team,
I have a licensed edition of neo4j in form of rpm packages.
I need the tar ball packages of neo4j so that i can choose or modify the below paths:
#dbms.directories.data=data
#dbms.directories.plugins=plugins
#dbms.directories.certificates=certificates
#dbms.directories.logs=logs
#dbms.directories.lib=lib
#dbms.directories.run=run
#dbms.directories.metrics=metrics
dbms.directories.import=import
Please suggest how can i modify the paths according to my needs whenI am using rpm installation.
Best Regards

Is there a specific reason why you want to convert a rpm to tar.gz?
There's an official tar.gz available via https://neo4j.com/download-center/#enterprise - I guess that addresses your needs.

Hello Stefan,
Yes !! As I do not have tar file for neo4j ( where i can change the installation paths) , I am using rpm packages of neo4j and in that I am unable to specify the below paths according to my needs. Please let me know how to achieve the path changes in case of RPM?
#dbms.directories.data=data
#dbms.directories.plugins=plugins
#dbms.directories.certificates=certificates
#dbms.directories.logs=logs
#dbms.directories.lib=lib
#dbms.directories.run=run
#dbms.directories.metrics=metrics
dbms.directories.import=import

Don't quite get the point why downloading the official tar.gz is not suitable in your case.
Otherwise you could use alien
for converting between package formats.

Hello Stefan,
I have downloaded the tar of alien and extract it on my RHEL server. May I know the exact command for converting the .rpm package to .tar package?

Haven't used alien for a while. I'd try alien -t neo4j-enterprise-3.x.x-unix.rpm
.

I dont have this file alien file.

Of course you need to install alien first.
Still the question is why you don't want to use the official tar.gz of neo4j as mentioned above.

I want to use that official .tar only but I dont have it.
I have enterprise rpm for 3.5.6 but not having the .tar.
Due to this , I need to convert the rpm into tar.
Can u help me out in providing the tar package of neo4j enterprise edition?

Hello Dana,
Yes there is a reason for asking tar packages.
Reason is : I need to set-up the neo4j in Cluster ( High Availability of neo4j using 2 Linux Servers) in specific mount point of a linux OS. I believe by putting the installation directions in SAN Mount point of Active server , we can achieve the Neo4J clustering or HA.
Please correct me if I am wrong. I am open for any better suggestion to implement.
Thanks in Advance!

are you not able to get the official tar packages at https://neo4j.com/download-center
10-13-2019 12:52 AM
Hello Dana,
I am able to download it but it is showing me a trial-license product for 30 days.
I need permanent license binaries.
Please check the attached image which it is showing.
Now suggest.

Licensing is purely a legal thing. We do not have license keys for the core product.
