Hala is a social enterprise working to transform the nature of protection and accountability in the world’s
toughest places by democratizing advanced defense, sensing, and artificial intelligence technology. Hala is currently saving lives, reducing trauma, and improving resilience for millions of people.
In August 2016, in partnership with the Syria Civil Defense (SCD, or the White Helmets), Hala launched an early warning system for airstrikes called Sentry. Sentry provides an average of 7-10 minutes of warning to approximately 2M people across opposition-held Syria. It has generated 100,000+ observations of aircraft and averages 140 warnings per day.

Requirements:
This role will be mid or senior level depending on the applicant’s experience. You will work on infrastructure, data modeling, algorithms, some Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, along with the standard full stack development. The Software Engineering team uses a broad range of technologies and skills to accomplish our goals. So while we do not require any candidate to have experience in all areas, a top candidate will have experience in some, an interest in others, and autodidactic when it comes to new technologies. These include, but are not limited to:

serverless development with AWS: API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, RDS, IAM, etc;
