Brush up your skills before NODES, our graph technology conference on Nov 16 and 17. The Road to NODES series of preparatory workshops will help you get the most out of the event.

The workshops are presented by industry experts with a variety of backgrounds, so whether you are interested in healthcare analytics or solving data problems with unique technology stacks, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge.

If you’re looking for a full overview of Neo4j, I recommend the Introduction to Neo4j workshop. Both new-to-graphers reviewing the basics and veterans expanding their skills arsenal will find these free workshops enlightening and worthwhile.

October 19 – Introduction to Neo4j

As I mentioned above, this workshop is a great choice for really anyone. We’ll be introduced to graph databases and discuss various approaches for identifying graph-shaped problems. We’ll also get our hands on our very first graph database experience, where we will load and query data using Neo4j Aura Free.

October 20 – Healthcare Analytics Using Neo4j

During this workshop, we will perform data ingestion and analytics of the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System Data. The FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS or AERS) is a computerized information database designed to support the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) post marketing safety surveillance program for all approved drug and therapeutic biologic products.

October 25 – Handling Neo4j Data With Apache Hop

This workshop will start with an overview of what Apache Hop is and why organizations are using it. Then we’ll dive into Neo4j-specific functionality ranging from no-code and graph model based data loading over Cypher and bulk loading options. This workshop will feature both practical examples and demos.

October 26 – Blazing Fast Graphs: Hands-on With Apache Arrow and Neo4j

Learn how to leverage Apache Arrow for blazing fast construction of Neo4j graph projections, ludicrously fast exporting of complex graph features, and more. If you’re a data scientist looking to experiment with your millions of node embeddings or a Data Engineer looking to decrease deployment time, you should check out Neo4j’s Apache Arrow support.

November 2 – Graph EDA Using the Neo4j Graph Data Science Client

Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) is a well-established step in the data science process. However, few examples or best practices address the unique challenges of performing EDA on graph data. Until now. We’ll walk out of this workshop with tools and techniques we can immediately apply to our projects.
