Law Enforcement agencies face an incredibly challenging information landscape. They work with large amounts of messy data under strict security requirements. They’re responsible for life-or-death decisions. And the insights they’re hunting for aren’t just needles in haystacks—they’re working very hard not to be found.
For all these reasons, the right data tools are critical. Earlier this year, a multinational law enforcement (LE) agency adopted GraphXR with Neo4j on the backend for internet investigations and visual analytics. While we can’t name the LE agency, they’ve approved this case study for general release.
The approach employed here reflects the state of the art in law enforcement. Moreover, the challenges discussed in this case study carry over to many disciplines facing stubborn data problems.
