Neo4J Desktop Startup throws: "Initialization error: Error: invalid block type"

I downloaded Neo4J Desktop Version 1.4.8 (1.4.8.66) for Mac. Installed it on macOS Big Sur 11.6.
Getting ready, please wait shows 5 steps. At step 3 "Looking for Neo4J" I get an error:

"Initialization error: Error: invalid block type" and a "Retry"-label. Please see screenshot.

Need some info how to fix the problem.
