Hi there! My name's Ellie Lockhart. I have a PhD in communication and formerly worked as an assistant professor at Rowan University in New Jersey. My research focuses on nerd and geek culture, but I'm currently pivoting and trying to use my existing research interests to become an app developer and data scientist.
Because I have always worked with words, and because I've been working with SQL and similar (I worked with MS Access '97 helping my mom when I was just a preteen) in the context of administering forums and other things, I was intrigued by neo's new graph model, not to mention all of the Matrix in-jokes in the documentation and utilities (I'm a big fan of the films). The move to include data science tools won me over completely, so I'm now here to figure out how to best integrate neo4j with my natural language workflow.
