Hi
I am trying to get neo4j desktop running on OS X 10.10.5 on my ageing (but reliable) MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) but every time I have tried to install it when I boot all I get is the Desktop App screen which is totally blank apart from partial views of one or two blocks of text (Screen grab attached). Anybody got any bright ideas other than buying a new MacBook? 🙂 Every other app I use for development I have no problems with.
cheers
Mark

Hi Mark,
I am running Neo4j Desktop 1.2.3 on an old MacBookPro (Mid 2010, 8GB, macOS High Sierra 10.13.6)
Neo4j has a minimum memory requirement of 2GB, except macOS.
Do you have enough memory on your Mac?
If the cause is memory, you can use the Neo4j Sandbox to learn Neo4j.

Hi Koji
Thanks for replying. I have 4Gb RAM and have never encountered anything that my MacBook Pro couldn't handle. I think the problem is that I am on OSX 10.10 and can't upgrade any further. I have Neo4j Desktop running on my other very old Mac (a tower) but I have High Sierra on that and 32Gb RAM. I will take your advice on using a sandbox for the moment.
Regards and Happy New Year from London,
Mark
